Environmental Scan 2011

The Service Skills Environmental Scan is developed by Service Skills Australia (SSA) to provide an industry specific overview of trends and developments in the service industries. It has been developed in partnership with industry and reflects the key issues identified by each sector.

Building upon the outcomes from the 2010 scan, the 2011 document:

• promotes the need for recognition of the significant contribution the service industries make to the Australian economy - both economic and social
• advocates for skill development that ensures the right skills are being developed for the job outcome

provides information on workforce development needs and the current impact of training packages in the services industries.
