Floristry Continuous Improvement
The SFL10 Floristry Training Package was endorsed by the National Quality Council on 22 December 2010, and is currently being loaded onto the National Training Information (NTIS) website and will be available for purchase through Service Skills Australia shortly.
Implementation
Service Skills Australia will be holding professional development workshops for trainers and assessors to assist in the transition to the new training package. These workshops will be planned for March-April 2011. Submission
The continuous improvement of this training package provided the opportunity for industry, training organisations, employers and employees to provide input into the current and future skills and knowledge requirements of the floristry industry. The SFL10 Floristry Training Package submitted consisted of:
- Four qualifications, including one new qualification
- 20 units of competency, including units that had been updated, realigned and newly developed
- Updated assessment guidelines, including specific requirements on vocational currency of assessors in the floristry industry.
- The submission that was made to the National Quality Council is available for viewing.

Please note that based on feedback from the State Training Authorities the following updates were made prior to submission:
- The entry requirements of the SFL40110 Certificate IV in Floristry and SFL50110 Diploma of Floristry were simplified by listing the units required for entry into the qualifications plus vocational experience
- Statements of equivalency have been added into the qualifications mapping table in the preliminary information.
